It sure was nice seeing Craig Biggio get hit number 3000 the other night. Remember the young looking Biggio from the 1989 Upper Deck rookie card of his? I do… he sure looks like he is old now compared to then. Of course he has been a top catcher, a top second basemen, a decent outfielder, and now a decent second basemen in his career and deserves to look a little older. If not for having Chris Burke in my APBA league (hoping some day he’d get to play 2b), I have no interest in seeing Biggio go. He appears to me to represent very much about what is good with Major League baseball. Hard work, doing what it takes for the best of the team. While I am sure in 18 years we may that about some current young player, I think we will be hard pressed to see someone like Craig Biggio again.
Oh yes… he has been plunked over 280 times!
