About

I’ve been involved with baseball and baseball cards since the early 70’s.  The first cards I can remember getting were the ugly 1972 Topps cards.  But oh did I have some good ones.  Didn’t the 1972 Topps Roberto Clemente card have an awesome picture?  Through the years I stayed in with baseball cards until around 1984… then I faded out until 1987.  1987 turned out to be a mediocre year to return in my mind as that is about the time that all the card companies really over produced.  I had TONs of 1987 Topps cards.  My favorite player at that time was rookie from the Cubs named Rafael Palmeiro.  I gobbled up tons of his rookie cards from Topps and Donruss.  I knew that he was a better player than Will Clark but no one else believed me.  Well… who knows what to believe with him now.  I know I felt completely duped when he tested positive… but something in me still wants to believe it was rigged.

Regardless, I ran this site as a baseball card store for about 5 years from 2002 through 2007.  Lately I’ve just not had the time or interest to maintain it as a store, so I decided to take the blog approach.  I’ve got lots to say about baseball and baseball cards — so I think it will be a much better site this way.  You may not like what I have to say about either topic, but I would expect that it will be entertaining to most.
